The WSSC Water Fund is now managed by the United Way of the National Capital Area (NCA)!

Need help paying your water/sewer bill? The Water Fund was established in 1994 by WSSC Water employees to help residential customers in financial need pay their WSSC Water bill. Eligible customers can access the Water Fund multiple times, up to $500  in a 12-month rolling period The program is administered by United Way NCA and funded by generous donations from WSSC Water customers, employees and community partners.

How to Apply:

  • Online: unitedwaynca.org/wsscwater
     
  • In-Person: Please schedule an appointment at the United Way NCA’s Financial Empowerment Center in the county of your residence.

Eligibility and Qualifications

To apply, a customer must:

  • Be a residential customer who rents or owns property in the WSSC Water service area (Montgomery and Prince George’s counties);
  • Show a copy of their past due WSSC Water water/sewer bill in their name;
  • Present a driver’s license, Maryland ID or passport for each adult living in the household;
  • Provide proof of all household income and cash benefits; and
  • Not have received $500 maximum Water Fund assistance amount in the past rolling 12-months.
