Project Purpose

To enhance service reliability and provide a constant supply of safe, clean drinking water, WSSC Water is replacing our aging infrastructure. This project will relocate/replace 2.71 miles of water main with new water main ranging from 4 to 12 inches in diameter.

Project Schedule

Winter 2025 – Fall 2026

Project Status

Construction is 60% complete. Pipe work completion is estimated for August 2026. 

Installation of the water main on East Street and West Street have been completed. 

Installation of the water main on Brightseat Road from Ardwick Ardmore Road to Landover Road is currently underway. 

Please expect weekday lane closures from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Work may occasionally extend beyond these hours to complete specific tasks. 

Final roadway paving/striping is estimated to be completed in fall 2026.

Winter Holiday Schedule

Construction will pause from December 24, 2025, to January 1, 2026, except for emergency work if needed. Crews will return after the break to continue planned activities.
