Project Purpose

To enhance service and reliability of the sewer system, WSSC Water is renewing our aging infrastructure. This project will rehabilitate 6-inch and 10-inch diameter sewer mains. Three new sewer manholes will also be installed.

Project Schedule

Summer 2023 – Summer 2026

Project Status

Construction is 90% complete. Pipe work is estimated for completion in April 2026. 

Remaining construction is located at 5000 Tuxedo Road and 6202-6225 L Street. 

Please expect weekday lane closures from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Work may occasionally extend beyond these hours to complete specific tasks. Final roadway paving/striping is estimated to be completed in summer 2026.

Winter Holiday Schedule

Construction will pause from December 24, 2025, to January 1, 2026, except for emergency work if needed. Crews will return after the break to continue planned activities.
