Project Purpose

To enhance service reliability and provide a supply of safe, clean drinking water WSSC Water is updating our aging infrastructure. The project will replace/relocate approx. 2.3 miles of water main ranging from 4 to 12 inches in diameter.

Project Schedule

Spring 2024 – Fall 2026

Project Status

Construction is 60% complete. Work is completed in Phase 1, including Spruce Tree Avenue and Court, Charles Street, Acadia Avenue and Camberley Avenue. The contractor is now working on Alta Vista Road, which is part of Phase 2.

Due to a restriction on above-ground pipes (bypass) in winter months, full work will resume in spring 2026.

Final roadway paving has been completed on Phase 1 and final paving and restoration on Phase 2 is anticipated within 90 days of work completion, weather permitting.

Winter Holiday Schedule

Construction will pause from December 24–28, 2025, and again from December 31, 2025–January 4, 2026, except for emergency work if needed. Crews will return after the holiday breaks to continue planned activities.
