She oversees a team of dedicated human resources professionals committed to building a collaborative, high-performing workforce and advancing organizational excellence.
Valerie brings more than 25 years of progressive experience in human resources leadership, combining deep expertise with a passion for public service. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and has held key leadership roles throughout her career. She is also a Certified Public Manager obtained from The George Washington University and Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. Prior to joining WSSC Water, Valerie served as Acting Director of Human Resources Management for Prince George’s County, where she led HR operations for a workforce of over 7,000 employees, driving initiatives that strengthened talent management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
