Project Purpose

To enhance service reliability of the water system, WSSC Water is replacing our aging infrastructure. This project is replacing approximately 4.5 miles of 8-inch and 10-inch diameter water main, to include water house service to the property line.

Project Schedule

April 2025 – Spring 2029

Project Status

Construction is 15% complete.

The contractor has completed all water main replacement work on Woodfield Road and approximately 525 feet of 8-inch water main along Franklin Street between Saul Road and Edgefield Road including installation of new water house connections.

During the winter months, the contractor will continue work on Saul Road, beginning at the intersection of Parkwood Drive, progressing toward Wildwood Road.

Winter Holiday Schedule

Construction will pause from December 24–28, 2025, and again from December 31, 2025–January 4, 2026, except for emergency work if needed. Crews will return after the holiday breaks to continue planned activities.
