Project Purpose

To enhance service reliability of the water system and to provide safe, clean drinking water, WSSC Water is replacing our aging infrastructure. This project is replacing 3.05 miles of 16-inch and 30-inch diameter water main.

Project Schedule

Winter 2026 – Spring 2026

Project Status

Project is 98% complete. 

Construction is currently ongoing at the intersection of Old Branch Avenue and Allentown Road intersection to complete the final tie-in. 

Final paving and striping anticipated to occur in spring 2026, weather permitting.

Winter Holiday Schedule

Construction will pause from December 24, 2025, to January 1, 2026, except for emergency work if needed. Crews will return after the break to continue planned activities.
