Jordan Baucum Colbert
Jordan Baucum Colbert comes to WSSC Water with experience in legislative and government affairs. She previously served as Senior Government Affairs Analyst for The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) in the Office of General Counsel, where she was responsible for overseeing M-NCPPC’s legislative priorities and government affairs for Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. Jordan served as the lead legislative advisor to planning board chairs, directors, and staff. She also assisted with constituent services and public affairs.
Jordan was born and raised in Washington, DC. She intentionally moved to Maryland to expand her career in grassroots campaigns and politics. She currently resides in Prince George’s County, MD.
Jordan has led efforts in campaign finance and voting rights in Prince George’s, Montgomery, and Howard Counties. She was nominated as Prince George’s County’s 40 under 40 for her excellent performance in public service. She previously served as a legislative fellow for both a former Congresswoman and one of the oldest civil rights organizations in the nation. During her political journey, Jordan also served as Chief of Staff for a member of the Maryland General Assembly.
Jordan is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She received her juris doctorate law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
In her free time, Jordan enjoys listening to jazz, cooking, and spending time with her husband, and two small children.
