On October 16, 2024, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) adopted a regulation titled “Replacement of Lead Service Lines.”
The regulation is authorized by Maryland Annotated Code, Public Utilities Article §17-403 and requires the replacement of public lead service lines and authorizes the replacement of private lead service water lines.
THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE NEW REGULATION IS DECEMBER 1, 2024.
