Laurel, Md. – January 17, 2023 – WSSC Water Commissioners are holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 18. This month’s meeting has a special early start time of 8:30 a.m. The meeting, which will be held in person at WSSC Water headquarters in Laurel, is open to the public and will be available via livestream from WSSC Water’s website.

Commissioners are scheduled to vote on proposed updated Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) regulations after WSSC Water completed its 2022 Disparity Study. The independent study, by MGT Consulting Group, reviewed WSSC Water’s minority business enterprise program and analyzed its activity with minority- and women-owned businesses. Recommendations were shared with interested stakeholders and local minority businesses during two public meetings held earlier this month. More information on the 2022 Disparity Study, including recordings of both public meetings, can be found at wsscwater.com/disparitystudy.

The meeting includes a call-in option to ensure interested stakeholders not in attendance can provide input. Those watching virtually and wishing to speak should call in at the beginning of the comments section, which begins shortly after 8:30 a.m. Callers will be admitted from the “lobby” when public comments start.
