WSSC Water Holding Monthly Commission Meeting on Wednesday, December 20

Laurel, Md. – December 19, 2023 – WSSC Water Commissioners are holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday, December 20, beginning at 10 a.m. The meeting, which will be held in person at the WSSC Water building in Laurel, is open to the public and will be available via livestream from WSSC Water’s website.   

This month’s meeting agenda includes scheduled votes on more than $51 million in contracts to upgrade and replace WSSC Water’s aging critical infrastructure to enable the continued delivery of clean, safe and reliable drinking water and wastewater services to 1.9 million customers in both counties. Presentations will be provided on the following topics:

  • Lemon Tree Lane Water Main Replacement (Silver Spring) – $5.3 Million

  • Marlboro Zone Reinforcement Project (Upper Marlboro) – $3.2 Million 
  • Tanglewood Drive Water Main Replacement (Lanham) – $3.6 Million 
• FY 2025 Preliminary Proposed Budget
• 2024 Front Foot Benefit and House Connection Rates
• Ethics Program Update
• Temple Hills Maintenance Depot Renovations – $4.9 Million 
• General Construction Services – $5.4 Million
• Information Technology – Oracle Exadata – $4.5 Million 
• Procurement – Strategic Sourcing Update
• Cleaning and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Inspection Services of Existing Sewers – $9 Million 
• Pipe Armoring Construction Services – $7.5 Million  

The meeting includes a call-in option to ensure interested stakeholders not in attendance can provide input.
