Laurel, Md. – January 18, 2022 – WSSC Water Commissioners are holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, beginning at 10 a.m. The virtual meeting is open to the public via livestream from WSSC Water’s website.

Commissioners are scheduled to vote on a $3.2 million contract to replace two large valves (devices to turn off water mains) and valve vaults (underground structures to protect valves) near the Boys & Girls Club in Germantown and Crabbs Branch Stream Valley Park in Rockville. The contract, which includes relocating and replacing sections of large-diameter water mains, has a 25 percent Minority Business Enterprise and Small Local Business Enterprise subcontracting requirement.

Wednesday’s meeting also includes a briefing on call center key performance indicators and planned improvements to enhance customer service. The briefing addresses COVID-19’s impact on staffing and call volumes.

The monthly meeting features a call-in option to ensure interested stakeholders can provide input. Those wishing to speak should call in at the beginning of the Comments section, which begins shortly after 10 a.m. Callers will be admitted from the “lobby” when public comments start.
