ROBERT G. BERGER Memorial Scholarship Fund
Robert (Bob) G. Berger was appointed as a WSSC Water Commissioner from Montgomery County in 1993 and left to pursue other opportunities in 2001. Sadly, Bob passed away on April 14, 2003.
A graduate of Brown University and Harvard Law School, Bob was a true advocate of higher education and played a pivotal role in creating the WSSC Water Scholarship Fund. Thanks to Bob’s vision, this fund has provided tuition assistance to numerous children of WSSC Water employees and retirees.
Out of respect for his passion and pride in establishing this scholarship program, this fund is dedicated in his honor.
During his nine-year tenure as Commissioner, Bob’s innovative leadership coupled with his unquestionable commitment to WSSC Water and our customers left a lasting legacy on this entire organization. We all have benefited greatly from his entrepreneurial spirit and down to earth character, and we are better off to have known him.
