After late November, if you do not receive a letter from WSSC Water about your water service line pipe material, it likely means – based on our extensive plumbing records review – we believe your water service line is not lead. This is great news. More than 96 percent of customer-owned water service lines in our service area are not lead.
Although not necessary, you are welcome to use our user-friendly inventory map to verify your pipe type. Simply type your address to view your water service line material, and then complete a survey.
Even if you do not have a lead service line, it is still important to learn how to reduce your possible exposure to lead. Learn more about possible sources of lead within households and steps you can take to reduce your exposure to lead.
