Potomac Water Filtration Plant

How We Filter Water

We operate and maintain two water filtration plants located in Prince George's and Montgomery County, Maryland. Our filtration process passes all regulatory requirements to ensure our customers receive the best quality water.

The average demand we get from our customers is approximately 170 million gallons per day (MGD)! Our Patuxent water filtration plant produces a maximum of 100 MGD, while our Potomac plant was recently upgraded to produce a maximum of 283 MGD. That's a lot of water!

View our interactive map to learn how we turn source water into clean, safe drinking water.
