Relocations Section Process Fees
Effective July 1, 2026
- Projects associated with property development should be submitted to WSSC’s Development Services Division.
- Residential homeowners in WSSC service area are not subject to review fees, subject to proposed improvement.
- All fee payments should be remitted before WSSC Relocations review can begin.

| (43) Minor Projects - Simple Review Fee | The simple review fee is for review of small minor improvement with limited scope requiring WSSC Water review | $455.00 (one-time fee for review life cycle) |
| (43) Initial/Simple (BASIC) Review Projects - Simple Relocation (Major Project Improvements) | The basic Relocations review is for the review of major improvement projects with a scope of work requiring WSSC Water impact assessment of WSSC assets. | $2,820.00 (one-time fee for review life cycle) |
| (43) Complex Review /Non-DR (Developer Review) Fee | The Relocations Section will determine during the first review if a complex fee will be necessary (requiring expert resources reviews such as Civil Engineering Support Section Review). If required, the difference between the simple and complex fees shall be submitted with the request for a subsequent review. | $6,220.00 (one-time fee for review life cycle) |
| (30) Design Review Fee (Requiring New MOU) | Applicant design fee is applicable to projects requiring the relocation design of water or sewer main. Fee assessment includes MOU preparation and two reviews. (see Minor additional review few when applicant requires more than two (2) reviews). | $12,555.00 (for first two reviews) |
| (32) Minor Additional Reviews of Unsigned or Signed Plans | Applicable when a signed plan requires minor revisions or when the applicant does not meet the terms of the MOU and additional reviews are required to complete addressing all design comment concerns. | $4,015.00 (per review) |
| (32) Major/Splitting Additional Reviews of Unsigned or Signed Plans | Applicable when a MOU (DR) plan requires a major revision or if there are multiple asset relocations associated with the plan design and the applicant requests the design to be split into separate designs. | $7,000.00 (per review) |
| (29) MOU Construction Services Fee | This fee is for inspection services associated with Applicant projects that require an MOU agreement to perform a relocation of WSSC assets. This fee is incorporated into the MOU agreement document and is calculated based on 10% of the agreed upon construction estimated cost. | 9.3% of RELO cost estimate or 12% of Contractor’s cost estimate |
| (43) Inspection for Minor Adjustments/Non-DR (Applicant/Developer Review) | Assessed on Applicant projects without an MOU that require minor asset relocation/adjustment. The fee is for WSSC Water’s Inspection services to assure all assets are relocated/adjusted per WSSC specifications and standards. The number of inspections will be determined during the review process and assessed per project needs per inspection days | $815.00 (per inspection) |

| (41) Variance Review Fee | Variance Request reviews maybe assessed as a last resort when Applicant project has a special condition that does not meet WSSC Water Design standards. Each condition requesting a variance consideration requires a separate submittal and fee assessment. | $1,850.00 (per review) |
