Project Purpose

To enhance service reliability and provide safe, clean drinking water, WSSC Water is replacing our aging infrastructure. This project will replace approximately 2.71 miles of water main with new 4-inch to 12-inch diameter water main.

Project Schedule

Spring 2026 – Fall 2026

Project Status

Construction is 60% complete. Pipe installation is estimated to be completed in August 2026.

Installation of the water main on East Street and West Street has been completed.​ Installation of the water main on Brightseat Road from Ardwick Ardmore Road to Landover Road has been completed. Construction on Landover Road between Brightseat Road and Barlow Road has begun.​

Expect weekday lane closures from 9 pm – 5 am. Work may occasionally extend beyond these hours to complete specific tasks.​

Final roadway paving and striping is estimated to be completed in fall 2026.
