Project Purpose

To enhance service reliability and provide safe, clean drinking water, WSSC Water is replacing our aging infrastructure. This project will replace approximately 0.77 miles of water main ranging from 4-inch to 16-inch diameter and 0.28 miles of water service connections.

Summer 2025 – Summer 2027

Project Status

Construction is 39% complete. Water main installation is estimated to be completed in summer 2027.​ ​ 

Please expect weekday lane closures from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. ​ Work may occasionally extend beyond these hours to complete specific tasks.​

Final roadway paving and restoration will occur following completion of pipe work, weather permitting.​

Spring Schedule

Crews will continue replacing water main and water service connections along Sunflower Drive from Hornbeam Drive to Carrolton Road.
