Spring 2026 Project Update: Old Branch Avenue Transmission Water Main Replacement - BL4985A09

Project Purpose

To enhance service reliability of the water system and to provide safe, clean drinking water, WSSC Water is replacing our aging infrastructure. This project is replacing 3.05 miles of 16-inch and 30-inch diameter water main.

Project Schedule

Winter 2026 – Spring 2026

Project Status

Construction is 98% complete.

Construction is ongoing at the Old Branch Avenue and Allentown Road intersection to complete the final tie-in.

Final paving and striping is anticipated to occur in summer 2026, weather permitting.
