Project Purpose

To enhance service reliability and provide a supply of safe, clean drinking water WSSC Water is updating our aging infrastructure. This project will replace/relocate approx. 1.47 miles of 20-inch diameter water main.

Project Schedule

Fall 2025 – Summer 2026

Project Status

Construction has just begun. Pipe work completion date is estimated for June 2026. 

Final roadway paving will be completed within 90 days of pipe work completion. 

Installation of water main on Gracefield Road is underway. Paving will begin in phases after the water mains are installed and tested. 

Please expect weekday lane closures from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Work may occasionally extend beyond these hours to complete specific tasks.

Winter Holiday Schedule

Construction will pause from December 24–28, 2025, and again from December 31, 2025–January 4, 2026, except for emergency work if needed. Crews will return after the holiday breaks to continue planned activities.
