Laurel, Md. – September 29, 2026 – WSSC Water will hold a press conference at 8:00 p.m. today to provide an update on operations at its Potomac Water Filtration Plant following an electrical issue that disrupted water production earlier today.
WSSC Water officials will provide the latest information on the plant’s return to water production, efforts to ramp up to normal operations and refill and stabilize the water distribution system, and the continued need for all 1.9 million customers in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties to use water for essential purposes only.
