WSSC Water installed 2.5 miles of new 48-inch raw water pipeline from the Rocky Gorge Raw Water Pumping Station to the Patuxent Water Filtration Plan, location along MD 198.

The new pipeline increases the Patuxent Water Filtration Plant’s production to meet the drinking water needs of Prince George’s and Montgomery County residents while ensuring infrastructure resiliency and redundancy.

Project Audit

In July 2025, WSSC Water engaged WSP USA, Inc., an outside consulting firm, to conduct an independent evaluation and audit of this pipeline project. The goal of this independent review was to identify the underlying root causes of the challenges encountered and capture lessons learned to strengthen future project delivery.
