Laurel, Md. – July 18, 2023 – WSSC Water Commissioners are holding their monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 19, beginning at 10 a.m. The meeting, which will be held in person at the WSSC Water building in Laurel, is open to the public and will be available via livestream from WSSC Water’s website.

Commissioners are scheduled to vote to extend WSSC Water’s temporary water bill amnesty program through August 31 – the second time the popular financial assistance program has been extended. The Get Current program helps eligible customers with a delinquent balance as of May 1, 2023, by providing bill credits and waiving 100 percent of late payment charges and turn-on fees. As of today, approximately 1,500 customers have signed up to take advantage of the benefits of the temporary amnesty program – allowing WSSC Water to collect more than $1.1 million (includes pay plan commitments).

This month’s meeting agenda also includes the following topics:

The meeting includes a call-in option to ensure interested stakeholders not in attendance can provide input. Those watching virtually and wishing to speak should call in at the beginning of the comments section, which begins shortly after 10 a.m. Callers will be admitted from the “lobby” when public comments start.
