WSSC wants you to Can the Grease! PSA 2011

Can it, cool it and throw it away! That's the message from the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). Grease should never go down the drain. Grease blockages build inside sewer pipes and can cause sewage to backup in your basement. When you're cooking with grease, pour it from your pan into a can, wipe you pan clean with a paper towel. Let the grease in the can harden and throw it in the trash... never down the drain!
