WSSC Water Adopts Equal Employment Opportunities and Anti-Harassment Regulations
On July 15, 2020, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC Water) approved Resolution 2020-2261, adopting regulations, Chapters 9.323, Definitions; 9.325, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Complaint Procedure; 9.335, EEO Policy; and 9.340, Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation of the WSSC Code of Regulations 2020. The regulations are authorized by Md. Ann. Code, Public Utilities Article, § 17-403. Under the regulations, Chapters 9.323, 9.325 and 9.335 and 9.340, the duties and responsibilities conferred to the EEO Officer are defined and delineated, along with the responsibilities of Commission employees regarding investigations of EEO, Harassment and Retaliation complaints. In addition, Chapters 9.335 and 9.340 pertain to WSSC Water’s policy to oppose discrimination, retaliation and harassment as well as the rights and responsibilities for employees, managers and supervisors under the Regulations.
THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE NEW REGULATIONS IS SEPTEMBER 1, 2020.
