The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) is seeking applicants to fill two openings on its Board of Ethics (Board).  The openings are for one regular Board member and one alternate Board member.  The regular member position will be nominated by Prince George’s County Commissioners.   The alternate member position will be nominated by the full Commission.  The Board is comprised of three regular members and one alternate member.  Each member is appointed by the WSSC Commissioners to a three-year term. 

The Board administers the WSSC Code of Ethics (Code), issues advisory opinions, responds to requests for waivers of Code prohibitions, acts on Code-related Complaints and periodically reviews the adequacy of the Code.  A background in workplace ethics is preferred.  The Board generally meets from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the WSSC Headquarters building located at 14501 Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, Maryland  20707.  Each Board member receives a $200 stipend for each regular monthly meeting attended.
