WSSC Takes Emergency Action Relating to the Accumulation of Biosolids

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Laurel, Md. – February 6, 2019 – The Chair, Vice Chair and General Manager/CEO of WSSC took immediate action today pursuant to Article IV, Official Emergency Action, of the Commission Bylaws of the WSSC Code of Regulations in order to declare an emergency relating to the storage of biosolids. In declaring the emergency, the Chair and Vice Chair adopted Resolution 2019-2214, which provides the supporting rationale for the Commission action, and authorizes the General Manager to carry out such directive on behalf of the Commission and take the necessary steps to mitigate and abate the emergency conditions. This action will be presented to the full Commission at its next regular meeting on February 20, 2019, for ratification as required under the Bylaws.
