Laurel, Md. – February 22, 2019 – WSSC will hold their monthly Commission meeting on Thursday, February 28, starting at 9 a.m. The meeting was rescheduled due to this week’s snow. The meeting is open to the public and will be livestreamed on WSSC’s Facebook page.
At the meeting, WSSC Commissioners are expected to vote to transmit the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Proposed $1.456 billion operating and capital budget to Montgomery and Prince George’s County officials. The FY20 proposed budget includes $638.5 million in capital and $817.4 million in operating expenditures. The proposed budget calls for a combined 5 percent revenue increase in water and sewer rates. Commissioners are also expected to vote on nearly $10 million in construction projects to upgrade WSSC’s aging infrastructure. A list of the contracts, and complete agenda, can be found on the WSSC website.
