Spring Open House Meetings Focus on New Rate Structure
County and Community Partners Join WSSC to Offer Customers Information on Assistance Programs and Resources

Laurel, Md. – May 16, 2019 – Continuing a commitment to transparency and public outreach, WSSC is hosting a series of open house meetings this spring to inform customers about several big changes coming to the water utility serving 1.8 million customers in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. Expected July 1, a new rate structure will change the way WSSC charges for water and sewer. The community-based events will provide details on WSSC’s new, modern and simplified rate structure and redesigned bill.
Customers have two more opportunities to attend the open house meetings to ask questions and learn about WSSC’s new rate structure, redesigned bill, enhanced customer assistance programs, construction projects, innovative technologies, environmental protection efforts and much more.

The open house format provides customers the ability to attend anytime during the two-hour period that is convenient for them. Customers with specific billing questions, or those who would like help in determining their future bills under the new rate structure, should bring their latest bill and a valid government-issued ID.
More than 250 WSSC customers attended the first open house held in Montgomery County at Walter Johnson High School on May 7.
