FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Laurel, MD - January 14, 2019: WSSC is making emergency repairs to a 16-inch water main at 3006 Danville Road, Accokeek.

Affected streets include:

  • Wheel Wright Pl.
  • Hardy Tavern Dr.
  • St Mary’s View Rd.
  • Wendells Ln.
  • Lusby Ridge Rd.
  • Kenlon Ln.
  • Danville Rd.
  • Devinger Pl.
  • Claggett Run Rd.
  • Stroh Ct.

Customers in this area will lose water service while the water main is fixed. A water station has been set up in the parking lot of St. Mary’s School of Piscataway, 13407 Piscataway Rd., Clinton.

Repairs will be made as quickly as possible.

ACCOKEEK UPDATE: This is not a typical water main break. Last night a car ran into a fire hydrant, which broke the water main and a valve connected to the hydrant. The pressure on a hydrant valve is significant and requires much more caution and care to fix.

We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for being a valued customer.

For 100 years, WSSC has proudly served the citizens of Prince George’s and Montgomery counties – providing drinking water that has always met strict Safe Drinking Water Act standards and protecting the environment through vital water resource recovery services.
