WSSC Hosts Public Hearings on Proposed New Rate Structures
Public Invited to Attend and Provide Comment

LAUREL, Md. – October 4, 2017: WSSC will hold three public hearings in October to receive comments on the five different rate structure alternatives under consideration. Attendees will learn more about the proposed rate structures and the impact these options have on the average customer’s water/sewer bill. The hearings continue WSSC’s commitment to transparency and follow extensive public outreach efforts this spring and summer, which included 15 public meetings attended by nearly 1,000 WSSC customers.

Prince George’s County
Customers will have the opportunity to provide a maximum of three minutes of testimony during the public hearings. Attendees interested in speaking are strongly encouraged to register in advance at WSSC’s website (www.wsscwater.com/ratestudy). Those unable to attend can watch via livestream on WSSC’s Facebook page or via WSSC’s website.
Written comments can be submitted until October 31, 2017, to BudgetGroup@wsscwater.com, or mailed to Budget Division Manager, WSSC, 14501 Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, MD 20707. WSSC’s current rate structure was adopted 25 years ago and good management practice dictates periodic review of rate structure alternatives. WSSC plans to select a new rate structure in June 2018.
