Laurel – December 4, 2017: John Snow was right… winter is coming. Much colder temps are forecast for the DMV this week and that means an increase in water main breaks. WSSC is #WinterReady and will detail plans to rapidly respond to, and fix, broken pipes at a media briefing on Thursday, December 7, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at WSSC’s Anacostia Depot, 3500 Kenilworth Avenue in Hyattsville.

See what it takes to repair a broken water main, check out the tools of the trade, including heavy equipment and a leak detection demonstration. WSSC General Manager and CEO Carla Reid will detail WSSC’s #WinterReady plans and share pipe protection tips for homeowners.
