Three Events Scheduled Throughout the County
OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LAUREL, MD – October 14, 2016: WSSC is taking part in the first-ever Prince George’s County series of Snow Summits to help residents prepare for the upcoming snow, ice, water main break and frozen pipe winter season. The summits will take place on the evenings of October 17, 18 and 20 at locations in the northern, central and southern regions of the county.
WSSC will join the Department of Public Works and Transportation, Office of Emergency Management, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement, Office of Community Relations/311 and the Prince George’s County Police and Fire departments to provide and share information. More information about the snow summits can be found here.
Residents will learn how to prepare and winterize their homes and what to expect if they experience a water main break in their neighborhood. Partner organizations will provide information about the snow removal operation and how key county agencies serve them during snow events, as well as answer questions they may have in preparation for the winter season. The snow summits are the first of their kind hosted by the county, and will serve as a great opportunity for the residents to proactively plan for the winter weather.
