LAUREL, MD – September 20, 2016: WSSC is excited to announce General Manager and CEO Carla A. Reid’s acceptance into Leadership Greater Washington’s (LGW) Signature Program Class of 2017. This year’s selected class of 63 area leaders includes councilmembers from Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, members of the media and executives from both the private and public sectors.

In its 30th year, LGW has connected over 1,600 executive leaders through its flagship Signature Program, which immerses participants in regional civic engagement on a variety of issues over a 10-month period.

“It is a great honor to be selected to this group of respected executives and community leaders from across our region” said GM/CEO Carla A. Reid. “As the leader of a 98-year old water and wastewater utility I want to collectively build for future generations. I look forward to working with and learning from some of the most influential leaders in the Washington area.”

Each year, a class of leaders is competitively selected to represent the leadership of the Greater Washington Region. Through these connections, leaders come together to positively impact a wide range of regional challenges in the District of Columbia, Suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia.

LGW’s Signature Program strives to shed light on a variety of regional challenges that reflect the current needs of Greater Washington.

For 100 years, WSSC has proudly served the citizens of Prince George’s and Montgomery counties – providing drinking water that has always met strict Safe Drinking Water Act standards and protecting the environment through vital water resource recovery services. Our vision is to be THE world-class water utility, where excellent products and services are always on tap.
