WSSC’s Chief Engineer Gary Gumm breaks down the 411 on cooking grease and sewer pipes. The bottom line... they don’t mix!

When cooking that holiday bird, or anything that creates grease, you should Can it, Cool it and Toss it! Grab a soup can, pour the grease in the can, let it harden in the refrigerator or freezer, then toss it in the trash.
