WSSC to Host Free Mini Plumbing Clinic

Laurel – March 27, 2015 – WSSC has partnered with Montgomery County’s Department of Environmental Protection for the inaugural Montgomery County GreenFest. This FREE family friendly event combines the previously held H2O Summit and Silver Spring GreenFest for an, interactive and educational day of environmental celebration.

The event takes place this Saturday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Montgomery College Takoma Park/Silver Spring and Jesup Blair Local Park.

GreenFest includes entertaining activities for the entire family; from workshops and demonstrations like the WSSC-sponsored “How-to” Mini Plumbing Clinic to live music by local environmental and nature-loving artists Kathryn Para and Davey Rogner.

Water Conservation in the Home: “How-to” Mini Plumbing Clinic

Location: Lecture Hall, Cafritz Foundation Arts Building, 930 King Street, Silver Spring

Date: March 28

Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

At this “how-to” plumbing clinic, WSSC plumbing technicians will cover basic techniques you can apply in your home. Our experts will help identify water leaks and basic household water usages that can result in high water and sewer bills. They’ll also demonstrate how to properly read an inside water meter.

All the GreenFest activities will be focused at three adjacent locations:

  • Cultural Arts Center: 7995 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910
  • Cafritz Foundation Arts Center: 930 King Street, Silver Spring, MD 20910
  • Jesup Blair Park: 900 Jesup Blair Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20910
