Towanda R. Livingston Receives 2015 Women Business Steadfast Supporter Award

Laurel – December 21, 2015 – The Women Business Owners (WBO) of Prince George’s County awarded Towanda R. Livingston, Director of WSSC’s Small, Local and Minority Business Enterprise (SLMBE) Office the 2015 Women’s Business Steadfast Supporter Award. Livingston was recognized for her “tremendous service in providing information and success to cultivate business growth and development of women-owned businesses.” 

“Year in and year out, WBO is instrumental in helping support women business owners and providing them with tools to establish and cultivate their businesses into flourishing community entities” said Livingston. “I am proud and honored to be selected as this year’s award recipient. It validates the hard work and dedication of the entire WSSC SLMBE team.”

The recognition was part of this year’s Business Awards Gala, which took place at the Country Club at Woodmore in Mitchellville, on Friday, December 18, 2015. The event saluted government, health, business and community leaders who are dedicated to the success of women-owned businesses, as well as the women behind them. 

WSSC’s SLMBE program is designed to ensure that small, local and minority firms are afforded the opportunity to participate in contracting opportunities in the areas of architecture and engineering, construction, procurement and professional services.
