FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Laurel – March 19, 2015 – WSSC has delayed opening the Triadelphia and T. Howard Duckett Reservoirs for public use, originally scheduled for March 15, until further notice. The extreme cold temperatures we experienced this winter caused the reservoirs to freeze over. Ice still remains on the reservoirs and the surrounding areas, making it unsafe for any watershed activities.

WSSC will open the reservoirs as soon as the weather permits and is safe. Please visit wsscwater.com for updates or call 301.206.7485 for additional information.

For 100 years, WSSC has proudly served the citizens of Prince George’s and Montgomery counties – providing drinking water that has always met strict Safe Drinking Water Act standards and protecting the environment through vital water resource recovery services. Our vision is to be THE world-class water utility, where excellent products and services are always on tap.
