Streaming Video Brings Latest WSSC Business to You
Quarterly Consent Decree Update

Laurel – January 27, 2015: Postponed from January 21 because of the inauguration of Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, WSSC’s monthly Commission meeting is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. today and you can watch from your desktop computer and most mobile devices directly from WSSC’s website.
The meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of the month.
On the agenda for today’s meeting:
- Chief Engineer Gary Gumm will present the latest report on the Consent Decree, a 12-year action plan aimed at significantly minimizing and eliminating where possible, sewer overflows.
- Get the first look at WSSC’s new website as Chief Information Officer Mujib Lodhi offers a tour of the site.
- Something you don’t see very often, video of a 54-inch valve being replaced.
The live broadcast displays the meeting agenda and allows viewers to see retirees being honored, presentations and videos from the meeting. Archives of the meetings will have agenda item links to take viewers directly to discussions about specific topics.
Multiple cameras are used to capture the meetings for the purpose of streaming, all in an effort to open the meetings to more people.
