OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Laurel – September 4, 2014: WSSC will conduct two public hearings on its proposed Fiscal Years 2016 – 2021 Capital Improvements Program (CIP). The six-year CIP proposes planning, design and construction expenditures for major water and sewer projects. The first will be Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in Largo and the second on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, in Rockville. The CIP continues WSSC’s aggressive program to rehabilitate or replace the older portions of the Commission’s 5,600 miles of water mains and 5,400 miles of sewer mains; and finances capital facilities needed to accommodate growth within the WSSC service area.
