WSSC Hosts Outreach Event for Small Biz, Suppliers and Contractors

Includes Session to Showcase Contracting Opportunities for Bid

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Laurel – November 6, 2014: WSSC will hold its free “How to Do Business with WSSC” event at its Laurel headquarters today from Noon – 4 p.m. as part of ongoing outreach to strengthen relationships with suppliers. The event, which connects potential suppliers with WSSC contract managers and purchasers from its Procurement Office, is intended to promote economic growth, build capacity among WSSC’s local supplier community and provide relationship building opportunities for WSSC and its suppliers.

Event check-in and registration begins at noon. Featured speakers are Jerry N. Johnson, WSSC GM/CEO, Rudy Gonzalez, Acting Chief Procurement Officer and Tracey Edwards, Acting SLMBE Director. The event includes a networking session and workshop featuring topics including, Centralized Bidder Registration (CBR), Pre-Bid Conferences & Site Visits, Approval Process, Supply Chain and Formal Solicitation Process. 

Additionally, attendees will have an opportunity to network with WSSC representatives to learn more and ask questions about upcoming projects.

  • Facilities & maintenance services and supplies
  • Fleet management services and supplies
  • Information technology equipment and software services
  • Other technical, financial and professional services

Registration is strongly encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome if space permits. Suppliers are asked to bring Tax ID number and NAICS codes for registration.
