WSSC Hosts Meeting in Rockville to Hear From Customers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Laurel – August 6, 2014: WSSC will host a public meeting tonight in Rockville to discuss proposed changes to its customer bills. The proposed changes are part of an effort to shift the billing system to a more modern, equitable and predictable approach to gathering revenue. The proposal aims to lower future rate increases.

The proposed changes include raising the quarterly Account Maintenance Fee, adding a fixed, pipeline investment fee based on the meter size of each customer and developing a Customer Affordability Program to assist those who qualify.

Another public meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in Largo.
