Public to Comment on Draft Watershed Use Regulations

Laurel – January 24, 2013: The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) has drafted new watershed use regulations and will receive comments tonight from the public. The draft regulations follow several public and private meetings with stakeholders as well as a study of WSSC’s portion of the Patuxent watershed by EA Engineering.
These regulations are designed to protect the watershed surrounding the Rocky Gorge and Triadelphia reservoirs which serve as source drinking water for more than half a million WSSC customers.

Comments from tonight’s meeting, along with written comments submitted by mail and email, will be used to finalize regulations that will become effective in early March.
