FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Laurel – June 4, 2012: The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) will provide water conservation suggestions to help homeowners reduce their water bill during the Prince George’s County 2012 Housing and Homeownership Fair on Saturday, June 9. The fair is being held at the Wayne K. Curry Sports and Learning Complex, 8001 Sherriff Road, Landover.

One way to conserve is through efficient lawn watering. For example, the best time to water is before 9 a.m. to reduce water lost to evaporation. For other conservation ideas, go to water saving tips.

WSSC will also provide information on their “Can the Grease” program. This is to promote the idea of pouring grease into a can rather than pour it down the drain to avoid clogged sewers and basement backups. This program helps to reduce the number of sewer backups in a home and neighborhood.

Sponsored by Prince George’s County Realtors Association, the Housing Fair is aimed at homeowners and potential homeowners.
