Laurel – June 27, 2012: Towanda Livingston, Director of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s (WSSC) Small, Local and Minority Business Enterprise Office, will be a panelist on the panel at the Maryland/District of Columbia Minority Supplier Development Council (MSDC) 30th Annual Business Procurement Conference and Tradeshow.

Livingston, a key supporter of the growing national Supplier Diversity movement, will encourage the corporate personnel in supplier diversity roles to more strongly advocate for minority business inclusion. Livingston also will discuss business forecasting and industry trends targeting small and minority entrepreneurs and how the new WSSC Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Program benefits the local business communities.

“It’s important that WSSC fosters a business environment that is inclusive in purchasing practices, expands contract opportunities and cultivates the growth of small, local and minority businesses in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties,” Livingston said. Improving Acquisition and SLMBE is one of the Commission’s core strategies.
