Project Scope
- WSSC Water will be replacing and relocating approximately 2.1 miles of water mains on US 97/Georgia Avenue and the connections to its intersecting streets. The project will extend from Denley Rd to Connecticut Avenue.
- The new water mains will be zinc-coated, ductile iron pipe wrapped in a protective coating, giving the pipes a life expectancy of at least 100 years.
- Construction is expected to begin late fall 2017 and be completed by Winter 2019, weather permitting.
