LAUREL, MD (March 6, 2008): The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) is pleased to announce that Teresa D. Daniell has been appointed to serve as the Commission’s Interim General Manager while Rudolph (Rudy) S. Chow, a 23-year veteran of WSSC, has been appointed to serve as WSSC’s Interim Deputy General Manager.
Daniell came to WSSC in November 2007as Deputy General Manager after a distinguished career in the United States Air Force where she achieved the rank of colonel. In her most recent assignment, she was commander of the 47th Mission Support Group, Laughlin Air Force Base in Texas. She led over 950 employees, managing infrastructure, business processes and internal support, including civil engineering, information technology, acquisition, human resources, equal employment opportunity, security, supply and fleet transportation functions.
Chow began his career at WSSC in 1984 as a civil engineer in the Commission’s Wastewater Operations Division. In his most recent role, Chow served as the Chief of the Commission’s Customer Care Team, where he led more than 500 employees in maintaining and repairing WSSC’s nearly 11,000-mile water and wastewater distribution system.
Both Daniell and Chow will serve in their interim positions until a new general manager is hired. The Commissioners have contracted with the firm of Heidrick and Struggles to conduct a nationwide search.
