Hydraulic Planning Analysis Request Instructions for Sketches

  • The project is to be shown on a sketch at 1" = 200' scale.

  • The base for the sketch shall be a black line print that accurately reflects the applicant's and adjacent properties as well as the public way. Show all existing WSSC water and sewer mains on that sheet. The sketch is to be one continuous sketch -not in sections or on multiple pages. Off-site extensions over 2000 feet in length may be shown on a separate sketch with reduced scale.

  • Relevant field observations that impact main alignment should also be shown (including, but not limited to. streams, steep slopes, Marlboro clay, and tree save areas).

  • If the WSSC project number is known, it should be included on the sketch. If the project number is not known, a space for the number should be provided in the lower right hand corner of the sketch.

  • Show spot elevations of interest (intersections, high points, low points, and ends of proposed mains). On one copy of the sketch should show contours for areas with significant re-grading or other relevant topological features.

  • On the original submission for projects with multiple parts, the parts should be numbered in order of construction sequence. Parts should be delineated and numbered so that any single part is never dependent on a higher-numbered part for sewer. For subsequent submissions of multiple part jobs, label part numbers consistent with previous reviews and WSSC job numbers for parts that have been assigned WSSC job numbers. Should a part be split into 2 or more parts, designate these new parts as 2A, 2B, etc.

  • The date the sketch is prepared.

  • Delineate deep sewer (provide profiles as required).

  • The sketch shall show all the information identified in the Sketch Color Coding list.
