WSSC is proud to launch “RoundUp,” a new program that offers customers a convenient way to contribute to the Commission’s Water Fund. The Water Fund helps our customers who are having a hard time paying their past due water and sewer bills. Our ratepayers can now round up their bill payments to the nearest dollar, with the extra change being donated into the Water Fund.

Created in 1994, the Water Fund has been maintained through the generous donations of customers and community members in the Washington Suburban Sanitary District. Customers can enroll to have their bill automatically calculated with the round up or they can check the box on each bill to give the round up as a one time donation.

The Salvation Army is responsible for administering the Fund and determining whether applicants qualify for assistance. The maximum annual amount that any customer may receive is $300.

Approximately 150 customers a year are helped by the Water Fund. With “RoundUp”, we hope to help more and more of our customers in need.

And remember, A Little Change Can Make a Big Difference!
