WSSC Art Gallery Presents

Current Exhibits

Gallery Guidelines

Art exhibits are open to the public from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on the Lobby Level of our Richard G. Hocevar Building located at 14501 Sweitzer Lane in Laurel, Maryland.

The WSSC Art Gallery was created in February 1997 to provide local professional level artists an opportunity to exhibit their talent, as well as to promote the cultural enrichment of WSSC employees and the public.

Each work must be framed and wired, ready-to-hang and of appropriate subject matter — g-rated.

There are spaces available for hanging from between 21 works up to 42 works if the work is small enough to be double-hung.
If you want to double-hang work, each piece should not be larger than 16” x 20” or extremely heavy. If you are single-hanging each piece, then the size of each work can be larger.

You are responsible for transporting your work to and from the WSSC Art Gallery area and will use the main entrance. You are also responsible for hanging and taking down your artwork. WSSC’s Building and Maintenance personnel can provide assistance if needed. Please let us know at least 3 days ahead of the set-up date if you will need assistance so we can schedule that with Building and Maintenance.

Please submit a list of the work you will be displaying.

The list needs to include:

  • the Title of the piece
  • Name of the Artist,
  • the Medium,
  • and the Price in that order.

We will create label tags that are displayed next to each piece. The information for the tags must be emailed to us at least one business week prior to the start of your show.

Additionally, we will design and print a flyer with:

  • your name
  • short bio
  • telephone number
  • and other contact information.

It will be available in the Lobby for people to take. The information for the flyer — your bio, contact information, picture(s) of your work (if desired) must be emailed to us at least one business week prior to the start of your show.

Each month the gallery features a different set of works from a local artist or art group. Artists and photographers based in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties are eligible to apply for exhibit.

We are currently accepting applications. If you would like to be considered for an exhibit, please review our Gallery Guidelines, or contact Amy Wilson at 301-206-8953 or awilson@wsscwater.com or Debbie Donnelly at 301-206-7123 or dDonnel@wsscwater.com.
